What Is Subhadra Yojana?

Subhadra Yojana is a financial assistance initiative by the Odisha Government under the Women and Child Development Department, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2024. It provides a total benefit of ₹50,000 per eligible woman, disbursed as ₹10,000 annually in two equal installments of ₹5,000 each, to foster economic independence and social upliftment. The scheme also incentivizes digital transactions by awarding ₹500 to the top 100 beneficiaries in each constituency who record the highest digital activity.

Eligibility

  • Age: Between 21 and 60 years as per Aadhaar date of birth.
  • Residency: Must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
  • Financial Status: Belong to economically weaker sections (family income limits and no NFSA card).
  • Ineligibility: Government employees, income-tax payers, women already receiving over ₹1,500/month under other schemes, and those outside the specified income/asset criteria.

How Much Money Do You Get?

Each beneficiary receives ₹50,000 over a five-year period, broken down into:

  • ₹5,000 on Raksha Bandhan (Shravani Purnima)
  • ₹5,000 on International Women’s Day
    This annual ₹10,000 instalment continues for five consecutive years (2024–25 through 2028–29).

How to Check Application Status

  1. Navigate to Status Page: On the Subhadra portal homepage, click “Check Application Status.”
  2. Enter Details: Provide your Aadhaar number and application reference number.
  3. View Status: The system displays real-time updates—“Under Process,” “Sanctioned,” or “Rejected”.
  4. SMS Alerts: Beneficiaries also receive notifications on registered mobile numbers upon each installment disbursement.
